THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Friday, June 25, 1926: 'E. W. Bailey, Principal of Colored School, Dies - E. W. Bailey, for 25 years principal of the colored high school here, died after a prolonged illness at his home, 191 North Twenty-first street on Thursday night at 9:20. He had been sick for six weeks or more and confined to bed for several days past. His death comes as a sorrow to the members of his own race and his many white friends regard his passing as a real loss to the community. No funeral arrangements have been made, though he will be taken to his old home in Tennessee for burial, according to his expressed wish.'

THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Saturday, June 26, 1926: 'Funeral of E. W. Bailey To Be At Noon Today - The funeral services for E. W. Bailey, principal of the negro high school of this city, will be held at noon today at St. Paul's Baptist church, and the body will be taken to Tennessee for burial near his old home.'
