THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 10, 2002: 'Edward Pierce Barganier of Paris stepped from earth into eternity on Sunday, April 7, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2002 at Victory Life Church of Durant, Okla. Born in Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1922, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II as an engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was then employed by Coon Construction Co. in Shidler, Okla., for a number of years before becoming a consulting engineer for Sargent and Lundy in Chicago, Ill., for more than 20 years. During that time he designed and built power generating stations in many different states and countries, including the Middle East and South Korea. In 1989 he retired, enjoying his hobbies of fishing and woodworking. He became an active participant in the Low Vision Support Group of Durant, Okla., and a member of Victory Life Church of Durant. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Paris; his daughter, Jetta Stoufflet and husband Ralph of Farmington, N.M.; a son, Edward Barganier Jr. and wife Stephanie of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Juanita Chambers of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; his sister Patricia Powell Fieger and husband Gary of New York City, and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by a son, A. Wayne Barganier.'
