THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 12, 2002: "Maella Black, 87, of Paris died Tuesday, April 9, 2002. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002 in the Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Fairland-Littlejohn Cemetery. She was born on April 16, 1914 in Lamar County. Survivors include her son, Jessie Black of Paris; two daughters, Katherine Black and Dorothy Adkism both of Paris; four brothers, Ed Lattimore of Caviness, Otha Lattimore, Peter Lattimore of Paris, Paul Lattimore of Hugo, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. www.legacy.com"
THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 14, 2002: "Maella Black, 87 of 1640 W. Walker St. died Tuesday at her home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Gray officiating. Burial was in Fairland-Littlejohn Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home. Mrs. Black was born April 16, 1914, to the late Cletus and Letha (Patterson) Lattimore. Survivors include a son, Jessie Black of Paris; two daughters, Katherine Black and Dorothy Adkism of Paris and brothers Ed Lattimore of Caviness, Otha Lattimore and Peter Lattimore both of Paris and Paul Lattimore of Hugo; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Black; four children, one sister and two brothers. www.legacy.com"
