| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 23, 2002: 'Girtha Lee Ivy, 88, of Cooper died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cooper, with the Rev. George Williams officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery. Maxey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ivy; her son, James Powell; and her sister, Willie Gordon. She was born on Feb. 22, 1914 in Paris to the late Budge Givens and Mary (Bray) Givens. She is survived by a son, Keith Ivy of Boston, Mass.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.' |
