THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 22, 2002: 'DALLAS, Dorothy Margaret Babb, born in Mabank on Jan. 28, 1925, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Laurel Lane Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. If desired, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Dallas. Dorothy was a faithful Christian who was a member of her beloved First Baptist Church of Dallas for almost 60 years. She was an employee of Liberty Mutural Insurance Co. for 45 years. After her retirement, she was a volunteer at Charlton Methodist Hospital for several years. She was a longtime member of Druid Hills Book Club. She dearly loved her home, her neighbors, her friends and her family. Dorothy fought her final illness as she lived her life, with grace, determination, dignity and courage. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Elinore Babb of Paris; sister, Joy E. Babb of Dallas; nephew and his wife, Ric and Barbara Babb of Longview; great-nephew, Paul Babb; great-niece, Rebekah Babb. She is also survived by her longtime close friends Jean Brown and Tommie Caudle. She also leaves several cousins and many friends to remember her kindnesses through the years. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Eula Adams and Wanda Drury for their loving care these past several weeks. Also, thanks to the staff at Lennwoood Nursing and Rehab Center for their kindnesses to her and to Dr. T. P. Webb and his staff for their many years of care.'
