THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 26, 2002: 'Elmer Lee ‘Elmo’ Trapp, 78, of Paris died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Gene Roden’s Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Terrell Hill officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Darrell Berry, Doug Kelley, John Chiles, Jay Guest, Kenneth McDougal and Robert McDougal. Honorary bearers will be members of the Battery ‘A’ 132nd Field Artillery of the 36th Division of the U.S. Army. Mr. Trapp was born May 13, 1923 in Paris to John Wesley and Betty Goldie Taylor Trapp. On Dec. 31, 1953, he married Glenna Fay Bishop in Paris. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 2433, as well as the Paris Masonic Lodge No. 27. He was a Baptist. Mr. Trapp is survived by his wife; sons, Robert and wife Laurie Trapp of Paris and Johnny and wife Trina Trapp of Paris; brothers, Lewis and Donald Trapp; one sister, Rosa Golden; two grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. W. and Bobby; three sisters, Helen, Opal and Inez; and his stepson, Larry Floyd."
