THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 20, 2002: 'Cora L. Brock, 87, of Paris, formerly of Red River County, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at her home at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Kanawha Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Appleby officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brock was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Red River County to Albert and Bernie Maroney Garrison. She married Howard W. Brock Nov. 19, 1932, in Woodland. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1984. She was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Elvis Daughtrey of Paris with whom she made her home; a daughter-in-law, Agnes Brock of Lewisville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and Paul Brock.'
