THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 08, 2002: ‘O’Neal Burns, 92, of Paris died at his home Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002. Services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L. Gray officiating. Burial will be in Fairland-Littlejohn Cemetery. He was born April 2, 1909 to Tom and Ellla Thonton Burns. He attended Foreman, Ark., schools and was previously employed by the Bauer family of Paris. At the age of 16, he moved to Paris, TX where he lived with his father, Rev. Thomas J. Burns, founder of Solid rock Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Curtis Lee Burns of Dallas, a brother, Elder Major Easter of Fresno Calif., and sisters, Bernice Bledsoe of Fresno and Carrie Davis of Sacramento, Calif.’ O'Neal Burns was a successful business man. He helped to create small businesses like barber shops, grocery stores and automotive repair shops. He enjoyed working with his life long friends and employers, the Bauer family from Paris, TX
