| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., July 13, 1987: 'BOGATA - Gertie Baxter, 87, of Johntown died Sunday, July 12, at Red River Haven Nursing Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Johntown Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery by Bogata Funeral Home. Mrs. Baxter was born Nov. 8, 1899, in Johntown, a daughter of John Averett and Rachel Ann Jennings Vaughn. She married C. W. Morris in 1925, and he dieed in 1942. She later married Dave Baxter who died in 1977. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Dodd of Bogata, and seven grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by an infant daughter and by a son, Charlie Vaughn Morris. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.' |
