THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001: 'BLUFF, OKLA. - Sister Jessie Mae Hicks Bowman, 61, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at Choctaw Memorial Hospital. Services will be Sunday, Nov. 25 at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ with Elder Joe Ganway officiating. Alberta Funeral Home will make burial in Bluff New Cemetery. She was born Aug. 20, 1930 in Bluff, Okla., to the late Tommy and Enolia Hicks. She united with the Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ where she served faithfully until her health failed. She is survived by one son, Clarence Luss and his wife Rosie of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Diane Luss of Temple, Martha Luss of Denver and Clarence Luss of Denver; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Minnie Mae Hicks and husband of Dallas; a brother, Tommy Hicks of Denver; an aunt, Mae Frances Adamson and husband U. V. of Bluff; uncles Dave Williams and Claud Armstrong; sisters-in-law Leetta Hicks of Lawton, Okla., and Clemmie Hicks of Denver, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Bowman, and brothers Andrew and Floyd Hicks.'
