THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, February 20, 2001: 'PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Alice F. Balfour, 78, of Prescott died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001. Private cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at All Saints Anglican Church with the Rev. Walter Crites officiating. Burial will be in the Aztlan Lodge Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Balfour was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Paris and was the daughter of Walter and Dorothy Neville Faught. She married the Rev. James Balfour June 20, 1950 and lived in Paris until her marriage. She was the granddaughter of the late A.W. 'Judge' Neville, longtime editor of The Paris. News. She moved to southern California and to Prescott in 1967. She worked for Catholic Social Services for 10 years. She was an Anglican-Episcopalian. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed reading works in literature, fiction, religion, philosophy and the humanities. She wrote poetry and could speak Latin fluently. She also enjoyed knitting. Mrs. Balfour was a music enthusiast and at one time had an extensive collection of recordings of folk music, blues, and jazz. Her family knew her as a well-rounded and educated woman who contributed to the lives of those around her. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Laurie Riley of Prescott Valley; a son Alan of Santa Rosa, Calif., and three grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Catholic Social Services, 116 N. Summit Ave., Prescott, Ariz. 86301. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.'
