THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, February 22, 2001: 'CLARKSVILLE - Clyde R. Bean, 88, Rt. 6, Clarksville, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital, Paris. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. A.B. Kellam and the Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Bean was born Nov. 3, 1912, in Red River County to Cadmus and Eva Blankenship Bean. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was the retired owner of Clyde Bean's Grocery Store. He married Mary Reep Nov. 18, 1934, in Clarksville. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Martha Clyde Bean of Clarksville, Mary Beth Petri of Clarksville and Sherree Peek and husband Dudley of Grand Prairie; a sister, Louise Henry of Carlsbad, N.M.; three grandchildren, Tonya Nuzum, Wendy Peek, and Jeremy Petri; his dog, Brutus, and special friends, Mike Clement and Tracy Reeves. Pallbearers will be Carl Foster, Billy Mauldin, Scotty Humphrey, Leslie Bishop, Glen Stewart, and Curtis Bachman.'
