| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, October 10, 2000: 'Tildon D. Betterton DEPORT - Tildon D. Betterton, 84, of Deport, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Deport Nursing Home. Wood Funeral Homes, Deport, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday. He was born in the Madill community of Lamar County July 11, 1916, to Joseph W. and Hattie V. Ashford Betterton. His wife, Ada, died May 4, 2000. He was a retired mechanic. Surviving are sons, Kenneth E. Betterton of Paris and James D. Betterton of Bonham; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dewey Land of The Colony, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Alpha Barnard of Deport, and several nieces and nephews.' Cemetery is not stated, but wife is buried in Highland Cemetery. |
