THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, October 5, 2000: 'HUGO, Okla. - Woodward D. Baker, 73, of Valliant, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Christus St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. He was employed with Brown & Root, Inc. of Valliant as a heavy equipment operator 15 years. He was an Army veteran and member of the Assembly of God faith. He was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Valliant, a son of Emmitt Baker and Nellie (Irons) Baker, and lived all his life in the Vaqlliant area. He married Sue Mooney Aug. 9, 1949, in DeQueen, Ark. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hurshell Baker. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the First Assembly of God Church in Wright City, with the Rev. Harold Brannon and the Rev. Scott Stuart, officiating. Burial will be in Valliant Cemetery under direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Valliant.'
