THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, January 24, 1934, p. 3: "H. F. TINNIN DIES EARLY WEDNESDAY. Services Will Be Held Thursday For Pioneer Lamar Citizen. Funeral services for Hugh F. Tinnin, 86, one of the pioneer residents of Paris and Lamar county, who died Wednesday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his son, H. W. Tinnin, 109 North 27th street, will be held at the residence Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock. The Rev. R. E. Joiner of Jacksonville Texas, will conduct the services, assisted by the Rev. E. V. Cole of the First Methodist church. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Tinnin was born June 15, 1847 in Lamar county. He was married to Miss Randle Johnson, who preceded him in death several years ago. Surviving ae a daughter, Mrs. Marcellus Walker; two sons, H. W. Tinnin and B. W. Tinnin; all of Paris. Pall bearers will be Scott Galbreath, John Snell, Robert Cook, Marvin Sandsberry, Ed Sluder and Pat Gibbons."

THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 25 Jan 1934 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: "Hugh F. Tinnin, 86, died Wednesday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his son, H. W. Tinnin in Paris. He was born June 15, 1847 in Lamar County. He was married to Miss Randle Johnson who preceded him in death several years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marcellus Walker; 2 sons, H. W. and B. W. Tinnin all of Paris."
