THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 1 Oct 1936 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: “Blossom -- Mrs. Jane Isom, 87, who never had been outside Lamar County, was buried in Blossom Cemetery Friday after funeral services at the home. Mrs. Isom was born in a community south of Paris in 1849. She never had ridden a train. She had lived on farms in various parts of the county, but for 30 years had lived here. Her parents were among the first residents of Lamar County, settling here about 184l. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Mollie Mowery and Mrs. Mattie Young of Blossom, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.”
THE PARIS NEWS, October 28, 1936, p. 12: “Civi Docket. The will of Mrs. R. J. Isham has been admitted to probate. Mrs. Mattie Young was appointed executrix.”
