| Notes THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 7 Apr 1955 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'Post Oak News -- Relatives here have notified of the death of Pete Barnett of Reno. He was killed about 6:30 p.m. Monday in a car accident about one mile east of Paris. His brother, L. A. Barnett, driver of the car was injured. The car side-swiped another car and got out of control and turned over several times. Mr. Barnett was dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral arrangments are incomplete. He is survived by his wife, a son, Ronnie, a daughter, Barbara, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Newt Barnett and several brothers and sisters.'
