Notes

THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 30 Oct 1952 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'MOTHER, SON DIE IN FIRE AT PARIS -- A mother and her 4 year old son died early Thursday last when fire swept through their frame home here. The victims were Mrs. Jack Spencer 'Deedy' Barnett, about 33, and David Alva Barnett. They perished after Mrs. Barnett had pushed her 11 year old daughter, Gerry, to safety, from a second story bedroom window and then returned for her younger child. Gerry rolled off the roof and fell to the ground, but suffered only shock. The father had gone to work just a short while before the fire started. Dr. J. E. Armstrong, county medical officer, said he believes the mother and son died of suffocation. Double funeral services were held in Paris at 3 p.m. Friday.'

Buried next to Ariel Lorraine Barnett.
