THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 8 Aug 1935 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: "Arthur Barnett, 47, formerly of Deport, died at Wichita Falls Friday last and the body was carried to Deport for burial Saturday. He is survived by a son and daughter at Deport and by 5 brothers."
THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, August 4, 1935, Pg. 6: “DEPORT-Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon for Arthur Barnett, 47, who died at Wichita Falls Friday morning. The body arrived here Saturday and services were held at the Baptist church by the Rev. Avery Rogers, assisted by the Revs. W. S. Wilhite and H. J. Manley. Burial was at Woodward Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Barnett, and a s son, James Barnett of Deport; five brothers, William and Kenneth Barnet of Liberty, Walter Barnett of Oklahoma City, Jess Barnett of Blossom and Paul Barnett of Paris. Pallbearers were John Roach, J. B. Ballard, L. H. Igo, J. R. Gardner, Grady Dickson and Leonard Bullard."
