THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, October 17, 1954, p. 2: “P. B. BAILEY [photo]. P. B. Bailey, 85, better known as Pow, died about 3 p. m. Saturday at Lamar General Hospital, after suffering a heart attack downtown. Former justice in Lamar County, he moved to Paris about six years ago, and lived here at 415-7th SW. Funeral arrangement await word from relatives in California, J. M . Grant Funeral Home at Deport having charge. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., November 4, 1869, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Bailey. and came to Texas with them when he was 10 years old. He and Miss Margie Anna Green were married at Blossom July 20 1899. His wife survives besides these children: F. P. Bailey, Borger; Marshall Bailey, Deport; Chester Bailey, Paris; Bruce Bailey, San Francisco; Mrs. Eula Cheatham, Los Angeles; Mrs. Mildred and Alan Bailey, Bonham, son from former marriage: a nephew whom the Baileys reared Robert L. Bailey. Carrollton 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Luke Bailey Blossom, and Winston Bailey. and a sister, Mrs John Swint, Paris.”

THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 21 Oct 1954 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: “P. B. ‘Pow’ Bailey, 85, who had lived in Lamar County 75 years, died Saturday at 3 p.m. in Lamar General Hospital in Paris. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., and came to Texas at the age of 10. He was married to Miss Margie Anna Green. He is survived by his wife, 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.”
