THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, September 11, 2000, page 8: 'William Samuel Taylor Jr., 89, of Paris died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Bethea officiating. Additional services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. Burial will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 14, 1910, in Amarillo to William Samuel and Helen Louise Howe Taylor. He was in the first graduating class at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and attended law school at Southern Methodist University. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Masonic Lodge having been a member for 54 years and was a 41-year member of the Hella Temple. He was a produce broker and realtor and was still active in real estate. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna M. Taylor, in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Joyce whom he married Sept. 14, 1982, in Dallas; children, Betty Jo Taylor Cox and husband Thomas C. of Dallas and William S. Taylor III of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Gene Oyler of Paris; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Meredith E. and Johnette Taylor of Rowlett, Kenneth E. and Charlotte Taylor of Dallas, Oscar and Bobbie Riefer of Mesquite, Karen and Kyle Adams of Carrollton; Chris and Tina Riefler of Kaufman, and Sharon and Don Loftis of Garland; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Olin 'Skip' Reed, Bruce Norvell, Charles Bybee, Leon Bolgiano, Benny Davis, Gene Oyler, Ronnie Regan, S. L. 'Buck' Wright, and Hollis Williams.'
