THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, June 8, 2000, page 8: 'CLARKSVILLE - George Mack Bean, 65, of Sandersville, Ga., formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000. Services will be held Saturday, June 10, in Sandersville. He was born Feb. 16, 1935, in Clarksville to Arley and Velma Blankenship Bean. He was a funeral director. Surviving are his wife, Sharon; sons, David Bean of Clarksville and Byron Bean of Bethesda, Md; a daughter, Marianne Whitehouse of Clarksville; a sister, Pauline McDonough of Clarksville, and grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Sarah and Lara Whitehouse, Megan, Ashey and Regan Bean. Memorials made be made to Walker Hayes Scholarship Fund, c/o Clarksville High School, P.O. Box 1016, Clarksville, Texas 75426.'

Services will be Saturday, June 10, in Sandersville, Ga. under direction of May and Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Washington Memorial Park. He was born Feb. 16 , 1935, in Clarksville to Arley and Velma Blankenship Bean. He was a retired mortician and funeral director and was a Methodist. He worked at Clarksville Funeral Home for 32 years, retiring in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Phelps Bean; sons, David Bean of Clarksville and Byron Bean of Bethesda, Md.; a daughter, Marianne Whitehouse of Clarksville; a sister, Pauline McDonough of Clarksville; grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Sarah and Lara Whitehouse; Megan Bean, Ashley and Reagan Bean; and a great-grandchild, David Whitehouse. Memorials may be made to Walker Hayes Scholarship Fund, c/o Clarksville High school, P.O. Box 1016, Clarksville, Texas 75426.'
