THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, May 17, 2000, page 8: 'DEPORT - Margaret Isabelle Griffin Bell died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in Deer Park. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will received visitors from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home. Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 16, 1913 in the Martin community to William B. and Stella Lathan Copley Martin. She graduated from Deport High School and graduated from Paris Junior College with honors and was a member of Theta Kappa. She married Harold V. Griffin in 1934 and they had two sons, Dr. Harold W. and James Gary 'Jimmy' Griffin. All preceded her in death. She taught school in Lamar County and moved to Dallas where she was employed at East Dallas Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital, retiring in 1983 from Presbyterian Hospital to move to Deer Park to be with her family. Surviving are daughters-in-law, Patti L. Griffin and Debbie Sanders; grandchildren, Kimbra Lynn Marcus and husband Baccus of Florida, Elyse Griffin Webster, Stacy Lynn, James Harold, and Ashli Nicole Griffin, all of Deer Park; Kandi Griffin Cobb and husband Carroll of Bacliff, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Caitlin of Florida and Justin Cobb of Bacliff.'
