THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, May 9, 2000 page 8: 'FORT WORTH - Billie Burke, 93, died at 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2000, in Fort Worth. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Greenwood Garden Chapel with the Rev. Jason Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 1, 1906, in Athens and was a housewife. She was a past member of Ridglea Eastern Star Chapter No. 999, and was a member of Birchman Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, John Burke of Arkansas; a sister, Jo Smith of Athens; grandchildren, John Phelps, Danny, Kevin and Arthur Burke and Christy Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Starlit, Max, Amy, Bobby, Jessica, Jennifer, Andrew, Parker, Hunter, and Kayce; grand-nephews, Buck Jr., Chad and Cody Covey; and great-nieces, Melissa Snyder and Kenda Covey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Burke, in 1979.'
