THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, March 27, 2000, page 8A: 'Roy Clyde Thompson, 82, of Paris died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Shupp officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was born April 24, 1918, in Paris to Gus David and Mattie Gray Thompson. He was owner of Automotive Paint and Body Works and a member of Providence Baptist Church. He married Dovie Mae Preston Nov. 28, 1936. She died June 5, 1995. Surviving are a granddaughter, Kristan Alexander and husband Gary of Paris; great-grandson, James Corey Alexander of Paris; a sister, Melvie Sisson of Deport; a brother, Bill Thompson of Paris; several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Thompson; five brothers, and one sister. Pallbearers will be Marshall Ray Jordan, Larry Don Jordan, Danny Thompson, Donald Thompson, Darrell Thompson, and Jerry Thompson.'

Tombstone is inscribed, 'Clyde Thompson.' On the same stone with wife Dovie Mae Preston Thompson.
