THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, March 22, 2000, page 10A: "Elaine Elizabeth Bratcher, 74, of Paris went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 21, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Blossom with the Rev. Neil Higginbotham and the Rev. Bill Dickey officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will make burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She was born June 8, 1925, in Dallas County to Lonnie Edwin and Lola Cleo Norwood Ferrell. She married Haskell Bratcher Oct. 4, 1942. She was employed by Sears and worked in the drapery department after moving to Paris in 1958. In their retirement she and her husband enjoyed fishing and gardening. More recently she was an avid antique dealer and collector. Her mother taught her to cook at an early age and she enjoyed cooking for her family and others all of her life. She was an active and faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Blossom. She was loved very much by a host of family and friends and is rejoicing in heaven with her mother and father. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Haskell; two sons, Richard Bratcher and wife Linda of Powderly and Larry Bratcher and wife Wynell of Blossom; grandchildren, John and Alishia Bratcher, Sarah and Dale Upchurch and Matthew Bratcher; three great-gradchildren, Cody and Sara Beth and Charli Upchurch; five sisters, Lucille Prichett, Mary Osbourn, Jo Ann Brunner, Francis Clem and Dorothy Lough; and one brother, Lonnie Ferrell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Slocum and brothers, Clarence and James Ferrell. Pallbearers will be Johnny Cole, Leslie Thomas, Tracy Bratcher, Ronnie Bratcher, Gregg Bratcher, Ronnie Westbrook, David Bratcher, and Kenneth Osbourn."
