THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, March 24, 2000, page 12A: 'HUGO, Okla. - Frances C. Imon of Sherman, formerly of Hugo, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a former Hugo correspondent for The Paris for many years. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Ark. Miss Imon was reared and educated in Pine Bluff. She moved to Hugo after working for The Pine Bluff Graphic and worked for The Southeast Oklahoman and The Paris News for many years. She was a free lance writer for other newspapers and magazines and published two books on the history of Southeast Oklahoma Indian country. She was active in the organization and promotion of the Choctaw Country Historical Society. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Miss Stella Imon and Mrs. Leslie DeWeese, and a foster brother, Joe Cromwell. Memorials may be made to Choctaw County Historical Society.'
