THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, March 9, 2000, page 8A: "Raymond John Thiel, 74, of Detroit died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in Plano. Services will be at Richardson Seventh Day Adventist Church at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, with Chaplain Phil Payne officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris with the Rev. Sam Hope officiating and Gene Roden’s Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was born May 22, 1925, in Greeley, Colo. He served during World War II and the Korean War and retired from Electrospace Systems of Richardson. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Lois Fisher Thiel; two sisters, Louise Eurick of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Sarah Fellman of Sunrise, Fla.; children, Gregory Thiel of Detroit, Scott and wife Lesa Thiel of Plano, Bonnie and husband Dan Norton and children Taylor and Trevor of Allen, and Dianne and husband Mark Hollon and children, Ashley, Andrew and Amiee’ of Richardson."

On the same stone with Lois Thiel. Also has a military marker inscribed, "Sgt US Marine Corps - World War II - Korea."
