THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, February 6, 2000, page 4B: 'GREENVILLE - Clara Underwood, 89, of LaPlace, La. and formerly of the Maxey community died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville with the Rev. Tom Earls of Paris officiating. Burial will be in Wieland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Underwood was born Aug. 10, 1910 in New Market, Ala. to Frank Norman and Maggie Hicks Norman. She married Harold Herbert Underwood on Nov. 14, 1926 in Campbell. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist church. She is survived by sons, Phil Underwood of Pahrump, Nev., Robert Underwood of Biloxi, Miss., and Norman Underwood of San Jose, Calif.; daughter, Hilda Hartin of LaPlace, La.; brother, Prather Norman of Rockwall; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; brother, Robert Leeroy Norman and sister, Edna Norman both in 1919; brother, Guy Norman in 1995; and granddaughter, Kelly Martin Eichler in 1988.'
