THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, February 4, 2000, page 8A: 'Henry Marshall Briggs, 81, of Paris died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Parkview Nursing Home. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Tigertown Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Helms officiating. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Ray and Iola Hopkins in Caviness at other times. He was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Tigertown to Aaron Perry and Elba Adams Briggs. He served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Thompson and husband Kenneth of Grants Pass, Ore., and Marlene Kelley and husband Dennis of Ventura, Calif.; a grandson, Scott Kelley of Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Jimmie Ruth Briggs of Paris and Iola Hopkins and husband Ray of Caviness; a brother, Robert Briggs and wife Delma of Grand Prairie; two nephews, four nieces, several great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Robert and Alice Roberts of Tigertown. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Honorary bearers will be Carl Roberts, Craig Roberts, Herman Briggs, Barney Briggs, James Wright and Gene Baker.'

Also has military marker inscribed, 'SC1 US Navy World War II.'
