THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday October 21, 1999, page 4B: 'TROUP - Eddie Boroughs, 94, of Troup, formerly of Paris died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in a Whitehouse nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Goodson officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemeter, Troup. Mr. Boroughs was born Oct. 12, 1905, in Gainesville Ga., to George K. and Callie Etta Moorehead Boroughs. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Seabees, spending 38 months on the Aleutian island of Attu. He married Gertrude Locke March 15, 1928. She preceded him in death Feb. 24, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Pat Huggins of Troup; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Richard E. Peck Sr. and Cathy Peck of Irving; a step-grandson and step-granddaughter-in-law, Chipper and Christie Hugghins of Troup; two great-grandsons, David Peck and Richard E. Peck Jr., both of Irving; a great-granddaughter, Tammy Clark of Irving; a great-great-granddaughter, Jessica Clark of Irving; a great-great-grandson, William Travis Clark of Irving; and a sister-in-law, Majorie Morphew of Paris. Pallbearers will be Vester Tennison, Jerry Rhodes, Robert Burton, Gene Cottle, Glen Evans, and Robert Cheatham.'
