THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, May 25, 1999, page 4B: 'TEXARKANA, Tex. - Laura Ann Roberts Blake, 66, of Texarkana died Sunday, May 23, 1999, in Little Rock, Ark. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, in Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hill Johnson and the Rev. Matt Idom officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. She was born April 27, 1933, in Paris to Walter and Mabel Meals Adams of Brookston. She attended Paris High School and was a 1949 graduate of West Lamar High School and a 1951 graduate of Paris Junior College where she was Homecoming Queen in 1950. She had lived in Texarkana since 1951. She was the retired executive secretary for Pleasant Grove Independent School District, a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, a member and secretary for the past two years of Western Bowie Retired Teachers Association, and was a life member of the Parent Teacher Association. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy K. Roberts. Surviving are her husband, Leon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bobby Howell of Texarkana and Jani and Gary Stone of Sanibel island, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Roberts of Texarkana; a sister, Martha Jean Crenshaw of Paris; seven grandchildren, John Howell, Andi Howell, Joshua Roberts, Kimberly Roberts, Jackson Stone, Jordan Stone, and Matthew Howell; and one nephew, Donald Mac Crenshaw. Memorials may be made to St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 3500 Main St., Texarkana, Texas 75503 or Williams Memorial United Methodist Church, 4000 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas 75503. The family will be at 6105 Deerfield, Texarkana.'
