THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, April 30, 1999, page 4B: 'LONGVIEW - Calvin M. Barton, 88, of Longview died there Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Jones and the Rev. J. S. Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery by Rader Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A native of Red River County, Mr. Barton was born Sept. 9, 1910, and had lived in Longview since 1968. Prior to coming to Longview he resided in Paris and had worked for National Hardware and Supply. In Longview he worked with the Pine Tree Independent School District where he retired as custodian. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was known affectionately to his grandchildren and numerous others as Pa-Paw. Surviving are his wife, Mae Bell; son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Theresa Barton of Kilgore; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Charles Farmer of Longview, Janice and Bobby Gooding of Clarksville, Jean and Troy White of Longview, Cathy and Rickey Lawrence of Hallsville, Anna and Lloyd Morris of Lake Jackson; a brother; Van Barton of Paris; sisters, Catherine Weaver of Mesquite and Martha Ann Fox of Corpus Christi; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.'
