THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, March 23, 1999, page 4B: 'Dr. Charles E. Beachley Jr., 75, of Lewisville, a longtime resident of Paris, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in Carrollton after a lengthy illness. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday March 23, 1999, at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Okla. A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Paris, at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, with a reception to follow. Dr. Beachley was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and practiced surgery for over 30 years in Paris. Born Feb. 25, 1924, in Nutley, N. J., Dr. Beachley graduated from Johns Hopkins and Harvard Medical School. He served in the Air Force and moved his family to Paris in 1957. He served the community at both McCuistion Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. He served as chief of staff at McCuistion and on numerous other boards and positions at both hospitals. He was active in the development of civic causes such as education and the arts in Paris. After retiring from private surgical practice, he continued his medical career with Baylor's Baylorfast in Denton, with a year as medical director of McCuistion's emergency room, and with Lamar County as medical director. After full retirement from medicine, he remained active in community service in Anadarko, Okla., and in Lewisville where he resided at the time of his death. He was a long-time member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Paris, where he served as a lay reader. In Lewisville, he attended the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation. Dr. Beachley is survived by Linda Beachley, Joan Beachley, Charles E. Beachley III and Harriet Beachley, Ann and Lynn Martin, Holly and Russell Brear, Pam Beachley, Charles E. Beachley IV, Bill and Lucy Martin, Madeline Martin, Billy Martin, Randy and Cathryn Black, Austin Black, Keatin Black, Anna Black, Chris Martin, Allison Martin, Greg Martin, Isaac Brear, David Brear, and Noah Brear. The family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Greater Lewisville YMCA.'
