THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, March 3, 1999, page 4B: 'FORT WORTH - Terry W. Baxter, 83 of Fort Worth died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Weatherford. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born June 28, 1915, in Johntown. He retired after 51 years as a member of the Fort Worth Painters Union. He was an avid coon hunter and was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He served in the Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Ollie; a son, William J. Baxter of Orlando, Fla.; stepsons Harold Smyers and wife Ann of Weatherford and Jess Smyers and wife B. J. of Benbrook; a daughter, Florene B. Brashier and husband Charles of Weatherford; stepdaughters, Shirley Gieger and husband James of Fort Worth and Sherry Hasley and husband Jack of Grand Prairie; a brother, Turley Baxter of Paris; two sisters, Trudy Maricelli of Shreveport, La. and Rosie Wells of Alexandria, La.; two grandchildren, Terry H. Brashier of Houston and Susan Holcomb of Fort Worth; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.'
