Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 with Paul U. Lee Funeral Home of La Porte in charge of arrangements. The eulogy was written by Charlotte McWhorter LaRue and read by Brenda Meyers of Baytown. Brenda Meyers also read by request 'Not a Care in the World' by Russell A. Kamp. Her brother, Carl Wade, closed the service with a prayer. Burial was in La Porte Cemetery. She was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Orange. Surviving are her loved ones: her daughters, Brenda McWhorter Burks of Paris, Wanda Lou McWhorter of Blossom, Charlotte McWhorter LaRue of Paris; a son-in-law, Randy P. Burks of Paris; a brother, Carl Wade of Paris; a sister, Geraldine Savoy of Vidor; grandchildren, Randy Kyle Burks, Brandy Burks, Mandy Freeland, Jessica Ralson, Adrienne Finley, and Eddie Ray LaRue, all of Paris; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and by her wonderful friends of Golden Acres Apartments in Paris.
