THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, January 3, 1999, page 4B: 'SULPHUR SPRINGS - Funeral services for Martha Nell Brown, 54, of Yantis, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at the St. Philips Episcopal Church, with the Rev. A. Patterson Young and the Rev. Blake Dunagan officiating. Private inurnment services will be at the Yantis Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at her residence. She was born in Dallas Feb. 18, 1944, a daughter of Thomas King Provence Jr. and Cornelia Vernell Hornsby Provence. She married Michael L. Brown Nov. 29, 1963, in Wills Point. He survives. Mrs. Brown attended Baylor University and was a homemaker and organist. She also was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Other survivors include her mother, Cornelia Provence of Waco; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark William and Kathy Anne Brown of Yantais; a daughter, Michelle Anvaline Brown of Yantis; a brother, Thomas King Provence III of Waco; two grandchildren, Jarred Robert Brown and Caleb Jay Brown, both of Yantis, and a sister-in-law, Ima Jean Jacobs. Funeral services are under direction of Tapp Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer G. Ellis, Daniel Mark Dunagan, Randy Puckett, David Butts, L. D. Atteberry and Lain Russell.'
