THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, December 27, 1998, page 8A: 'DALLAS - Jim Taylor Threadgill, 74, who was born in Paris to a pioneer Texas family, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, in Dallas. He was born Aug. 31, 1924, to Mr. and Mrs. Marshall J. Threadgill. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington until induction into World War II where he served in the European efforts. He was en route to the Pacific when the war ended. He returned home in 1945. He married Irene Davis in December of 1946. The marriage lasted 52 years. In 1951, the family moved to Dallas where he was employed by American Airlines 35 years. After his retirement from the airlines, he had an insurance agency in Dallas until his retirement. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Phyllis Denman and Virginia Threadgill of Dallas; three sons, Ronald Threadgill of Richardson, Stephen Threadgill of Dallas and John Threadgill of Cirtrus Heights, Calif.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Sixton Becerra (Cheryl Denman) of Freemont, Falif., and Rachel Threadgill of Richardson; two grandsons, James Dayton Threadgill of Orlando, Fla., and Brian Scott Threadgill of Dallas; sisters, Mrs. Sybil Harbison of Paris, Mrs. Emogene Lafon of Princeton, Texas and Ms. Larry (Carolyn) Chance of Florien, La.; a brother, Marshall Threadgill Jr. of Paris, and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A sister Mrs. Wayman (Dorothy Ann) Epps preceded him in death in 1951. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas with the Rev. David Cole officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Chapel.'
