THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, June 2, 1999, page 4B: "Vada Griffith Bolton went to meet her Lord Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Heritage Care Center. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Newton Hambrick officiating. Mrs. Bolton was born April 5, 1920, in Lamar County to D. R. and Delia Jordan Griffith. She married Hubert Bolton Nov. 28, 1940. She was retired as a salesperson from Abbott’s Furniture Store. She was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church and a dedicated servant of the Lord. Surviving are her husband; a son, Norris and wife Marilyn; two grandsons, Brad Bolton and wife Karen and Brent Bolton and wife Deborah; one great-grandson, Jason Bolton; three great-granddaughters, Hallie Jade and Madison Bolton; and two sisters, Pauline Richardson and Ruth Bryan, all of Paris. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tollie and Jerry Griffith; and a sister, Coy Shew."
