THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Sep. 4, 1995, p. 12A: 'Rolen B. Usher, 75, died Sunday, Sep. 3, 1995, in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sep. 6. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Tue. Sep. 5. Mr. Usher was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Chanute, KS, a son of the late Rollo and Annie Hart Usher. He served with the 102nd Infantry Division during World War II. He graduated from St. Mary's University, San Antonio with a BBA degree. Retiring as plant manager from Unifirst Corp. in Springfield, MA in Dec. 1988. He also served with St. Joseph Hospital as an auxiliary volunteer. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Reeder) Usher; a son and daughter-in-law, William H. and Barbara Usher of Dallas; a daughter, Dr. Linda Usher Mott, and a son-in-law, Roger D. Mott; a grandson, Tyler Madison Mott; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Reeder; a niece, Kathryn H. Finley; a nephew, Rolen Dale Casebolt of Chanute, KS. A sister, Mae (Usher) Casebolt preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be his great-nephews Mike, Randy, Tim, Andy, Danny Finley of Chanute, KS; nephew Rolen D. Casebolt, Kansas City; and J.W. Ashmore and John Norton.' A tombstone was found in Evergreen 55-72-04 inscribed, 'Major, US Army WWII.' Lamar County Marriage Book 42, page 91 shows Rolen B. Usher married Helen Reeder on 1 Nov 1942.
