THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, December 18, 1974, p. 9A: 'Mrs. Almanda Brownrigg [Should be Amanda Brownrigg] of 403-1st NE died Monday at 3:45 p.m. in her home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Tudor Street Church of Christ. The pastor, Jesse Jackson will be officiating. Burial will be made in Restlawn Gardens Cemetery under direction of Maxey Funeral Home. Mrs. Brownrigg was born Sept. 15, 1876 in Lamar County. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Ann Griggin Franklin. She was married to J. W. Brownrigg who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the order of the Eastern Star, Viola chapter number 18. Survivors are two daughterrs, Mrs. George Alford and Mrs. Newton Woods, both of Paris; five grandchildren, Newton Woods, Jr. of Midland; Mrs. Ethelda Waulene Pleasant of Austin; Mrs. Peggy Alresa, Mae Lyles of Tuskegee, Ala.; Mrs. Gene Straton Matthews of Canoga Park, Calif.; and Charles Chavers, Jr. of Dallas; 20 great-grandchildren and 27 great- great-grandchildren.'
