Married Lee Roy Barber. See his record. In that record her maiden name is shown as Viola Esther Irene Marie Lambert. THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 24 Mar 1988. 'Esther Barber, 89, Rt.2, Powderly, died Thursday, 17 Mar 1988, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were held Saturday, 19 Mar, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Barber was born 14 Aug 1898, in Arthur City, a daughter of Alfred Patton and Annie Marie Melton Lambert. She married Lee Roy Barber in Paris on 17 Sep 1927. He died 26 Sep 1985. She was a member of the Powderly Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, Harrell Barber of San Benito, Kenneth Barber of Powderly, Bill Barber of Irving and Travis Barber of Fort Worth; two daughters, Alta Fogleman of Annona and Pat Crane of Springtown; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.' The obituary of her husband shows her full name to be Viola Esther Irene Marie Lambert Barber. |
