Notes

Records concerning burials in what is known as Old Baptist Cemetery were found mostly in the Rodgers and Wade Funeral Records. This Black Cemetery has not yet been enumerated. The terrain is swampy and an initial search of the area was unsuccessful by Ron Brothers in 1993. It is believed to be behind the Merico plant in the city limits of Paris in the northwest quadrant of the county. It could be between Center St. and Loop 286 in Block 32 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. It would be in Block 149 of the same map for the city. The oldest known burial is that of Arzellis Cuerueton who died 6 Jun 1901. It is possible but not proven yet that Hendricks Cemetery is the same as Baptist Cemetery. There are 42 known burials in this cemetery.

The Death and Cemetery Records have reached 117698 records!!
