THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Sep. 23, 1997, p. 4B: '(Picture) Sara Frances Wyatt Bell, wife of Rayburn Bell, died Monday. Sep. 22, 1997, at her Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sep. 25, in the sanctuary at Central Presbyterian Church. The family invites all those whose lives have been touched by Sara through her work, writing, friendship and love to attend. She was a homemaker, a garden columnist for The Paris News, a Realtor and a community activist. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School, Amarillo Junior College and University of Texas (cum laude). Sara participated in many facets of the Paris community. In the 1950s she served on the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee for the First Congressional District. She founded and served as President of the Lamar County Opportunity Center, an education facility for pre-school children. In the Central Presbyterian Church where she was a member 50 years, she taught Sunday school and was on the Board of Deacons and Sessions of Elders. Sara's cup was always more than half full - she was the eternal optimist, a trait she has passed on to her children and grandchildren.
