THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Sep. 5, 1994, p.6A. 'Deport - Thelma Bankhead, 88, of Cunningham, died Sunday, Sep. 4, 1994, in McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Life Tabernacle Church at Cunningham with the Rev. Tony Corso officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home of Deport. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Bankhead was born Apr. 25, 1906 in the Woodard community of Lamar County, the daughter of Luther and Linnie Crump Watson. She married Clyde Bankhead Oct. 8, 1928 in Minter. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1994. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Loyd and Erma Marshall of Fort Worth and Clyde and Gerri Bankhead of Cunningham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melba and Buddy Holbert of Lubbock and Elaine and Roy Wheeler of Denver, CO; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Otis and Marie Watson of Cunningham; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jimmy Holbert. Pallbearers are Benny Cooper, Mike Marshall, Robby Holbert, Justin Wheeler, Chance Bankhead, Brian Marshall, Jerry Don Holbert, Jerrod Bankhead and Edd Pascasio. Honorary pallbearers are Frankie Norwood, Burl Dean Watson, Johnny Musgrove, Pete McKinney, Allen Gifford and Harold Dean Watson.'
