THE PARIS NEWS, 16 Dec 1988: 'Funeral services for Coy Alvin Barber, 405-14th NW, were conducted Friday in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Mr. Barber died Wednesday at Parkview Convalescent Center.

THE PARIS NEWS, 15 Dec 1988. 'Coy Alvin Barber, 77, 405-14th NW, died Wednesday, 14 Dec 1988, at Parkview Nursing Home. Services will be held Friday, 16 Dec, at 10 a.m. in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery. Mr. Barber was born 20 Jan 1911, in Atlas, a son of John E. and Donnie Northam [sic, should be Norther] Barber. He married Lura Fay Lambert on 14 Oct 1933. He was the longtime owner of Charcoal Burger here. He served in the Army during World War II and was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife; one son, Richard Barber of Paris; three grandchildren, Chris, Rachel and Katie Barber; and a half brother, John Edward Barber of Lewisville.'

Tombstone is inscribed, 'TEC 5, US Army WW II.'
