THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, July 9, 1937, p. 3: “Death Calls Mrs. Travis Badgett - Mrs. Dora Mae Badgett. wife of Travis Badgett of Talco, died here of typhoid fever at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Miller, 245 North Eleventh Street, Friday morning at 10:10 o’clock. The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the tabernacle at Hopewell by the Rev. J. W. Milligan, and burial will be made at the cemetery there. Emberson-Brown-Roden Funeral Home has charge and pallbearers will be John Roach, B. F. Love, Mark Kennedy, Louis Basinger, Jim Perryman and Leslie Howie. Mrs. Badgett, who was born on November 7, 1909, leaves besides her parents and her husband, a sister, Miss Lawrencine Miller of Paris; a brother, Earl Miller and her grandmother, Mrs. H. L. Purcell, both of Sumner.” Also in an old scrapbook donated by Zoe Hazelwood.
