THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, February 17, 1931, p. 10: “Funeral services for Mrs. T. S. Turner, 85, who died at 1:15 o’clock Sunday afternoon at her home, 364 Clarksville street, were held at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon at Manton-Fry Funeral Home. Services were conducted by F. L. Young of Dallas, formerly of the Lamar Avenue church of Christ, assisted by R. L. Colley, present minister of that church. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were Herbert Turner, Charles Turner, Glenn turner and Alva Winters. Out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Ida Davis of Stillwater, Okla; Mrs. Claude Bailey and children, Dick, Mary Ellen and Blendon of Stillwater and Miss Dorothy Castle, Stillwater, Okla. Mrs. Turner, formerly Della Holbrook, was born Dec. 21, 1845, near Nashville, Tenn. Her parents moved to Texas when she was an infant and settled near Mt. Vernon, Franklin county. She moved to Paris in 1885, having married Thaddeus S. Turner in March, 1868. Mr. Turner died Sept. 2, 1922. Mrs. Turner had been a member of the Church of Christ since her girlhood. Surviving Mrs. Turner are one daughter, Miss Effie Turner, two sisters, Mrs. Ida Davis of Stillwater, Okla.; Mrs. J. l. Fulbright of Mt. Vernon; one brother, G. R. Holbrook of Talco; five grandchildren, Herbert, Charles, and Glenn Turner, Miss Ariel Turner and Mrs. Alva Winters. Mrs. Turner’s sons preceded her in death were W. Herbert and Charles Turner.”
