From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; Sgt., US Army, son of C.E. Bateman. Born in Clarksville, TX., died in Taegu, Korea.

THE PARIS NEWS, 31 Aug 1952: 'Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Gene Roden and Sons Chapel for Clyde Bateman of Paris, sergeant first class, U.S. Army, who died 29 Jun 1952 in the 25th Evacuation Hospital in Taegu, Korea, after becoming ill while serving with the Army in Korea. The Rev. J.L. Wideman will conduct the services. Full military rites will be held at the graveside service at Meadowbrook Memorial Park, in charge of the Rev. Raymond A. Partlow, chaplain for the Local American Legion Post, which will furnish pallbearers. Survivors include his wife the former Miss Bonnie Myres; one son, Clyde H. Bateman, Jr., 415 20th NE, Paris; his father, C.E. Bateman, Sterling, Okla., and a sister, Mrs. Brown Griffin, Sulphur, Okla. Sgt. Bateman was born 13 Nov 1910, in Clarksville. He attended Kanawa High School and was employed at the Snow Funeral Home. (The remainder of this obituary is missing).
