THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, page 4B: "Johnnie D. Berry, 50, of Dallas died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Baylor Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Wilbur Simmons officiating. Mr. Berry, a veteran of the Navy and Vietnam, was born June 11, 1948, in Bonham to Tom and Mattie Carey Berry. Surviving are two brothers, Jerry L. Berry of Grapevine and Kenneth Berry of Grapevine; four sisters, Bobbie Gregory of Sherman, Deloris Roberts of Dallas, Evelyn Brewer of Tyler and Deloria Perry of Irving; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother."

Also has a military marker inscribed, "US Navy Vietnam."
